Arbok has been my favorite Pokemon ever since I discovered Pokemon had a snake-like species when I was 9 years old. I was incredibly excited when I was given the TCG card in recess, and was even more ecstatic when I first saw him in the episode "Dig Those Diglett!". I have always enjoyed Ekans as well, but Arbok's overall character design appealed to me more, and I thought it was much cuter. Reptiles, especially snakes, are amongst my favorite type of animals, which reflects why Ekans and Arbok are my main collections. Collecting these purple slithery snakes has been the pride and joy of my Pokemon collecting adventure. I always end up coming across something of them that I've never seen before, which makes my curiosity run wild, thinking what other cool snake things are out there! While you scroll down below, you'll see that these two cool snakes ended up on some
very interesting and unique merchandise!

Arbok Hasbro Beanie
This is one of two official Arbok plush out there. This particular plush is made by Hasbro. If you want an Arbok plush in your life, but not sure which one you'd want (not like there's much to choose from anyways, haha), then this guy is THE one! The Hasbro beanies were made here in the US and are quite easy to spot on eBay due to their large red hang tags.
Throughout the years, Arbok has become one of the more harder to obtain ones, so if you happen to feast your eyes on one, don't let him slither away! He's definitely a joy to have in any collection. Just look at that face! This little guy is the happiest Arbok ever! Around 6 inches tall, made with a soft, velveteen-like fabric and stuffed with polyester and beans, he's the perfect plush to nestle in the palm of your hand.
I luckily found this guy back when I first started collecting in 2010, he was in a cheap lot on eBay along with a Pikachu and Gyarados, all MWT. While I sold the other two, there's no way I'd ever let this guy go! If you're searching for one, it's best to look out for large plush lots on eBay, as an individual listed one can go for $40 or more.

Arbok "Mirage Plush" from Taiwan
***UNOFFICIAL***
First and foremost, while never confirmed by other collectors or its original owner, after gathering what I know about Mirage Plush, I'm 99% sure this Arbok is a Mirage Plush.
This guy first appeared in mid-2013 in an auction on the PKMNcollectors community. He was listed as a "Banpresto Arbok", and the original owner stated that he was "purchased from Taiwan, and is very similar to the Hasbro plush". While at first I thought this was potentially a bootleg, Arbok's Hasbro plush was never bootlegged.
General characteristics of Mirage Plush are: they are old, they were not mass produced, they have unknown origins, and are created from a 100% unique pattern. While this one meets all the criteria except for the last one, there is a confirmed Mirage Raichu that closely resembles its Hasbro pattern; which leads me to believe that this particular Arbok has similar origins.
Enough rambling, more talk about this guy! I love him so very much! He unfortunately can't sit up straight like his plush counterpart above...no matter how many times you position him (which is why my hand is in the photo holding him up, haha). As seen from the profile view, his tail doesn't curl up enough, which leaves him to fall flat on his face. Poor snakey!!! He has roughly the same dimensions as the original Hasbro plush and made of a similar velveteen fabric, but the colors on his face and belly alternate between two shades of purple. There is a white string with a suction cup affixed to his head, which is also another common characteristic of Mirage Plush.
He's definitely a unique and quirky plush to have! I'm very happy to have come across one, and he's definitely loved and treasured among my other snakes. If you're curious about what other Mirage Plush exist, check out this site here. Another collector, who mainly posts her plush collection pictures on DeviantArt, has some cool Mirage Plush as well.

Arbok Burger King Plush
If this isn't the most derpy Arbok plush out there, I'm not sure what is. Arbok was one of the many random Pokemon to be made into a keychain plush during the 1999 Burger King promotion in the UK. He's made of a weird stretchy cloth material, and has a very mean look (no pun intended) in his eyes. His blue plastic keyring is HUGE and the accompanying pentagon shaped silver plastic is large as well, with the words "Pokemon World" embellished on it.
I used to have a duplicate of this plush, out of its package and without its keyring, but it was unfortunately a factory reject or a bootleg, so it was hard to tell whether mine was legit or not. Back in 2010, there were just a bunch of these guys on eBay for really cheap. Usually if an item has multiple listings for cheap and from China (although not all bootlegs come from China!), it's either a factory reject or bootleg, so I decided to hold out for a legit one. While it's tempting to release this Arbok from his plastic bag prison, I'm a stickler for MIP merchandise.

Ekans Burger King Plush
In the same vein as his super silly cobra counterpart above, the UK Burger King decided to make an Ekans to go along with his derpy Arbok brother. This one is a little more successful in design than the Arbok, and captures the essence and spirit of Ekans...but oh goodness, it's still hilarious.
He's about 5 inches long from head to tail, made of a smooth cotton fabric, and stuffed with a combination of polyester and small beans.
He's still just as lovable as all of the other Burger King plush, so the more snake plush love, the better! I still can't get over the keychain...it's so ridiculously big. But hey, at least I know the plush won't fall off!
You can usually find this guy and his silly Arbok counterpart on UK eBay, either listed individually or in a lot with other Burger King plush.

Ekans Applause Plush
And with this incredibly silly looking plush, this Ekans Applause plush completes my set of official purple snake plush!
Applause plush are a unique class of plush toys; they were sold in individual plastic Pokeballs, or they were sold in packaged sets (called "Battle Playsets"). Ekans came packaged with a Slowpoke. The most telling characteristic of an Applause plush is there is a piece of shiny, almost plastic-like, fabric incorporated somewhere in its design. While most of the plush designs have a more obvious placement of the shiny fabric (as seen on this Bulbasaur and Dratini), this Ekans here just has the shiny fabric on his little rattlesnake tail!
This guy was so hard to find, as this is the hardest official snake plush to obtain, but I was overjoyed when I finally came across one in 2011. His design is what you'd imagine a snake plush to look like; perfectly coiled as opposed to stretched out, decent proportions, and a design that captures the likeness of Ekans!

Arbok Tomy
The most generic and common of all Arbok figures! This Arbok looks especially happy in all of his plastic goodness. There are a couple different versions, such as the Auldey Tomy and the Monster Collection Tomy; but I believe this one in particular is the Audley Tomy model since it looks identical to the one in the packaged figures pictured below.
In the late 1990s, amidst the Pokemon hype here in the states, Tomy figures could be found everywhere. They had their signature, eye-catching red packaging, and usually came packaged with 5 figures. If I'm not mistaken, Arbok was packaged with a James figure, while the Jessie figure came packaged with an Ekans. How silly, seeing that James wasn't the one who owned Arbok! I'm not super well versed in Tomy figures, there are lots of Tomy exclusive collectors who could probably elaborate on the different Arbok versions and where he was packaged; but all I knew was that I had to get my hands on ONE of them, so here he is!
Tomy figures and Hasbro beaines were basically the only Pokemon merchandise I was aware of and collected when I was younger. I would distinctly remember browsing my local Walmart and seeing rows of the Tomy packages on the walls and wanting them all! But alas, when you're 9 years old and have to rely on mom and dad for an allowance, you could only settle on a package or two of toys.
I never owned an Arbok Tomy when I was growing up, so I know I had to own a piece of my childhood history. Now the Tomy figures hold a nostalgic quality to me when it comes to collecting, and I immediately think of those carefree days when I was younger. Such a happy, memorable time!

Arbok Mini Tomy (with Jessie)
Tomy release a line of figures that feature different trainers with their Pokemon. These figures are teeny tiny! The package literally fits in the palm of my hand. The Arbok inside is roughly the size of my index finger nail, so imagine how small that little guy would be outside of its package!

Arbok Clear Tomy
***BOOTLEG***
Somewhere down the line, a lot of Tomy figures ended up with clear versions. They were not manufactured by Tomy themselves, so chances are a manufacturer got a hold of the Tomy mold, and decided to make these figures using a clear plastic material. These are indeed bootlegs, as confirmed by other collectors.
While I'm not a supporter of bootlegs, I do like this figure in particular, mainly because I have a soft spot for clear figures. The material is semi-translucent, and is a mix between pink and purple. The marking on his belly is missing his signature red color, and instead, is just simply black and yellow. His eyes are actually larger than those on a regular Tomy, which makes it seem like he's super happy! I dig it.

Arbok Mexican Figures
***UNOFFICIAL***
Back in 2013, I came across a lot on eBay that had a ton of clear figures, located in Mexico. I've never seen them before, and there were so many Pokemon in different colors, so I knew I had to get my hands on the snakes! Gin (denkimouse) was very kind to do a group buy for these, as I was uncomfortable with my group buy experience.
We're not sure if these are bootlegs or not, so we'll call them unofficial for now. They are of a mold akin to the Tomy figures, but these are a little smaller. The paint that adorns them is sporadic (and probably unintentional), but the colors of the figures are awesome!!! The teal one is my favorite of the two.

Arbok Kids (Finger Puppets)
A must own for any snake collector! Pokemon Kids are made by Bandai, and each Pokemon was made into one. They are hollow figures made of soft plastic, and since they're hollow, they have been marketed as finger puppets! Anyone who collects any Pokemon knows that a Kid figure is a must in their Pokemon collection.
This is one of my favorite Arbok figures, as his face is perfectly sculpted and he has such a great expression. The first Kid figure I obtained is on the far left, and the other two I obtained in 2014. The Kid figures can end up in a different color due to it being in a different mold, or due to different year releases.

Clear Arbok Kid
THIS GUY RIGHT HERE, oh my goodness. This is a figure that I definitely cherish with all of my heart.
Okay, a little background on clear Kids, taken from the PKMNcollectors Wiki page:
"In some sets of Pokemon Kids, there is a chance (although small) that one may acquire a "clear" variation of a Kid, where the plastic of the figure is somewhat translucent. Not all of the sets include clears however, and one way to find out whether or not they do is by looking for an announcement that appears on the box that the Kid was originally inside. Whether this announcement is within a bubble or is just highlighted text, the word クリア (clear) will be printed to indicate that clear variations are included in the set."
With that being said, some clear Kids are easier to find than others, or pop up on Y!J more often. Arbok was one that was not easy to find AT ALL. The only picture I saw of him was on a Japanese website, so I didn't even know what one looked like from the perspective of another collector. One finally surfaced on PKMNcollectors back in 2012, and I was actually notified via PM by chaos_21, a fellow collector. They had put it on hold for me, and thankfully they did, because at least 4 other people were also interested! What a joyous day that was, as I've been searching day in and day out for one of these guys. To this day, I'm still shocked that I was able to get my hands on one, and if it was big enough to hug, I definitely would!

Arbok Shiny Buildable Figure
This Arbok figure is absolutely fabulous. Can't remember which company made this figure, but a variety of Pokemon were made into this style. This particular Arbok figure is made with a super shiny hollow plastic; he comes apart in two pieces and snaps together easily.
The markings on his belly and his eyes are actually not made of plastic, they are stickers! He's definitely one of the more glamorous figures that resides in my collection, that's for sure.

Arbok "Bowl Pal" Figure
Remember how commercials on TV would advertise "FREE TOY INSIDE EACH BOX OF BLAHBLHABH CEREAL"?! Remember how you would beg your parents to buy said cereal, only to later fight with your siblings for the little piece of plastic happiness that awaits at the bottom of your cereal box?!!! Well, that's what this guy was, he was a cereal toy!
Kelloggs decided to make a series of "Bowl Pal" figures; toys that are shaped in such a way to hang off the side of your cereal bowl while you're eating. That's not creepy or silly at all. I'm not sure what cereal these toys were advertised with...maybe it was the Pokemon brand cereal? (yes, that did exist at one point). There were 3 figures in all: Arbok, Geodude, and Pichu. Why they decided on those character choices, I'll never know. But all I know is that I'm super happy that Arbok was one of those characters!
This figure was the one that started it all. It was the very first figure that I purchased when I decided I wanted to collect Arbok. So he is definitely a special little snake! I found this figure in 2010 on eBay for $2, and when I received it, I thought it was a bootleg since there were no markings on it. I discovered a full lot of the cereal figures later on that year, all of them still in their package, so it was good to know that this Arbok was indeed an official figure! You can find these guys from time to time on eBay, as these are one of the easier to obtain Arbok figures.

Arbok Full Color Stadium (FCS) Figures
Full Color Stadium figures, more commonly referred to as FCS figures, were a series of gachapon toys made by Bandai. Every 1st Gen Pokemon received a FCS figure, and they came with a green hexagon shaped base that can be interlocked with other FCS Pokemon figures. These figures are relatively easy to find, and are usually a staple in any 1st Gen Pokemon collection. The figures are roughly an inch tall, and have a small hole on the bottom of them to connect to the base. Mine unfortunately doesn't have a base, oops!
The second photo is a figure from the same series of FCS figures, but it could also be from the Battle Museum series, I'm not entirely sure. I do enjoy this figure very much though! Most of Arbok's figures feature him with his mouth closed, but this one has his mouth open, and his pose is rather dynamic! The belly marking is more unusual too; the marking and its overall pose reminds me of Arbok's TCG art from the Fossil set. Quite a striking resemblance!

Arbok Fuzzy Figure
I don't have much knowledge on this figure except that it was made by Banpresto. When I won this from Y!J, it came in a box with an Ekans. I think the listing stated it was an arcade prize? I'm not too sure, haha.
The figure resembles the FCS figure above, perhaps made from a similar mold. It's about the same size as the FCS figure, except it's covered in a velvety, peach-like fuzz. Almost reminds me of an interior of a jewelry box. I believe all 1st Gen Pokemon have a figure like this, but they're few and far between.

Arbok Keychain
***BOOTLEG***
Another item with an unknown origin, this keychain also resembles the FCS figure!
I believe this keychain is a bootlegged figure, since the paint on it is a little sticky, and the colors of his body and belly are a little off. But that's okay, still a unique item for my collection, as I've only seen a couple throughout the years.

Arbok Pocket Monsters Stamp 151
This cool little Arbok hails from Banpresto's Pocket Monsters Stamp 151 set of gachapon stamps. It's a non-self inking stamp with a plastic green base, with a clear plastic cover covering its base. I've actually used this stamp to stamp packages with! The figure on top is identical to the pose on the FCS figure, but smaller, and with more vibrant colors.

Arbok Character Stamps
Another set of gachapon stamps, these stamps are quite awesome since these are self inking and feature the color of its respected base! Also widely known as "Chibi Stamps", these stamps are rarer than the Stamp 151, and getting a full set is a difficult feat. You can usually see them sold in lots on Y!J, so that's usually your best bet.
These have got to be my favorite stamps ever, because they feature cute little chubby Arboks! The stamp art features Arbok's standard pose that you've seen pretty much everywhere.

Arbok In-Case Collection Figures
Yet another snazzy set of gachapon figures, these are cute Arboks featured in tiny plastic cases! The bases can come in blue, red, and green, and the bases can lock together horizontally. If you have a whole bunch of them, you can stack them on top of each other too, creating a sweet looking display!
The figures inside look pretty much identical to the Chibi stamps pictured above, except the paint that is used on Arbok's belly is a little bit darker in hue.

Arbok Metal Collection Figures
Anyone who's a hardcore collector of 1st Gen Pokemon knows the Metal Collection figures all too well. Metal figures come in 5 colors: gold, silver, copper, bronze, and gunmetal, but the original 151 Pokemon received some awesome vibrant colors.
Arbok's pose is rather silly since his tail is simply out to his side. He looks more like a slug than a snake, which makes him difficult to display properly. Getting a hold of specific colors is a huge challenge, as there are TONS of different colors out there! The black metal figure on the top right was an "oops" purchase; as it's a copper figure coated in black paint. Silly me didn't catch that in the listing. Oops!

Metal Collection Figures with Jessie and Arbok
Somewhere down the line there was a set of "Trainer Metal Collection" figures, that featured trainers and a Pokemon. This is very exciting, as there isn't much merchandise with the trainers.
The trainers and Pokemon featured in these sets were: Ash/Pikachu, Misty/Staryu, Brock/Zubat, Gary/Nidoking, Professor Oak/Muk, Nurse Joy/Chansey, Officer Jenny/Growlithe, James/Meowth, and last but not least, Jessie/Arbok! They came in the 5 natural metal figure colors, and Arbok's pose is way more awesome than his normal metal figure. Such rare beauties! I'm very happy to have obtained 3 of these.

Arbok Mini Models
Made by Bandai and featured in a multitude of brilliant colors, the Mini Model figures are one of those collections that will never stop growing. The figures are single colored and use the same molds as the FCS figures. There are loads of different colors out there, both in solid and clear variations.
I'm very happy with the amount of rainbow 'boks that I've obtained, but I'm forever on the lookout for more!

Ekans Tomy
Another piece of childhood nostalgia rests in this figure, the Ekans Tomy is one I definitely had to get, so he could go along with its Arbok Tomy brother. This was another figure that I did not own as a kid, but made sure I had to obtain right away.
The mold and pose of the figure isn't that bad, but its main color is rather humorous. Instead of the bright mauve color that is characteristic of Ekans, its color is reminiscent of a cranberry. Oh well, it gives it a little bit of personality.

Ekans Mexican Figures
***UNOFFICIAL***
These figures came from the same exact toy lot that I found the Arboks in. While they are almost reminiscent of the Ekans Tomy, their tails are a completely different story. What's going on with the figure where his tail is out to the side? What are you trying to do, Ekans?
Despite their silly faces and awkward shape, I enjoy these figures wholeheartedly. Their unknown, mysterious origins is what makes them such likable collector pieces!

Ekans Kid
Just another one of the Pokemon "Finger Puppet" Kids released by Bandai! Can't have the Arbok unless there's an Ekans to go along with it!
I personally think the mouth and face on this figure looks kind of funny; his lips almost purse out a little bit and makes him look like a duck. For god's sake Ekans, please don't turn into one of those basic-selfie-obsessed-girls on the internet ! ! !

Clear Ekans Kid
A beautiful clear Ekans kid in all of its awesome translucent glory! I obtained this clear Ekans first, before I obtained the clear Arbok Kid. Interesting enough, he was a lot easier to find than the Arbok. I think it's safe to assume that the clear Ekans came from a more common set of Kids, judging by how abundant they are on Y!J.

Ekans "Real" Figure
At one point I used to know the origins of this figure, and the other Pokemon that came with it, but as of now, it has slipped my mind, haha.
What I do know is that he is a very large and dense figure, made of a hard plastic. He comes in two parts; his tail is unassembled, but it's very easy to pop into place. He's actually one of the more realistic, proportionate looking Ekans figures! Bravo, Japan!

Ekans Roller Figure
This Ekans has a little metal ball on the bottom of him, so he can slide around with ease! I believe this set of toys has origins in the UK, but I could be mistaken. There were numerous other Pokemon made, and apparently they were made so you can "battle" with each other.
Here's to slamming plastic Pokemon into each other violently! Cheers!

Ekans Trading Figure Game (TFG) Figure
At one point in time, the figure company, Kaiyodo, decided to make some really awesome Pokemon figures! I believe this was supposed to sort of rival the TCG, since there are some moves/damage points on the base.
TFG figures in general are sculpted very well and highly detailed, which make them very admirable figures. I love how this Ekans is wrapped up nicely on a tree branch! I always love merchandise of these snakes that are out of the norm. This Ekans loves out of the norm things too, and ridiculous puns.
Me: "Hey Ekans, what's up?"
Ekans: "You know, just HANGING AROUND ! ! !"
Forever face-palming. Thanks, Ekans!

Ekans FCS Figures
Ekans's very own FCS figure, again, to go along with the Arbok counterpart that's pictured further up on this page! I used to have a base for this guy, but I've since misplaced it. A very small, generic figure that's pretty easy to find, this figure has a rather nonsensical design. While I enjoy the shape of his body, the shape of his face is rather thin and long, which reminds me more of a horse than a snake.
The figure pictured below is the Battle Museum figure, which features a more successful design! I love how his body is coiled like he's ready to strike. A lot of the times, toy companies will just make to a character's default pose, so it's rather refreshing to come across a figure that doesn't feature Ekans's default pose. And his face on this figure doesn't look like a ridiculous horse! Yay!

Ekans Fuzzy Figure
Another cool fuzzy figure has joined the snake nest, this time it's an Ekans! Resembling the FCS figure above, the only difference is that signature peach fuzz. Still not digging that horse face, though!! Never have, never will. *shakes fist*

Ekans Pocket Monsters Stamp 151
Oh hey, this Ekans slightly resembles the figures right above this one! However, the figure on top of the stamp is just a tad bit smaller than the FCS and Mini Model figures. Still with that silly thin goofy face, I enjoy the color of this figure way more.

Ekans Character Stamps
A full set of rare Ekans Chibi Stamps! I'm very relieved and beyond happy to own one in each color. While I'm not a fan of the thick black outline around his mouth, the figure is just so cute!
The art from the stamp is just a generic Ekans pose, just like his Ken Sugimori art.

Ekans In-Case Collection Figure
Super cute and featured a little clear display case! Although it's very very similar to the Chibi stamp pictured above, this figure doesn't feature that weird black outline around his mouth. I definitely like it better this way!
I'm still missing the figures with the red and blue bases, I haven't seen any more Ekans since I've obtained this one in 2011. That's okay though, I'd be rather bored with Pokemon if I didn't have something to search for!

Ekans Metal Collection Figures
You'll notice here that I don't have that many Ekans metal figures, compared to the Arbok metal figures. That's because Ekans is harder to find for some reason! At least in my experience. It was rather easy to obtain the natural colors, but I rarely come across a vibrant color that I don't have. The colors I do have though, I love very much!

Ekans Mini Model Figures
Yay, more rubbery colorful snake figures!! I'm still searching day in and day out for all the different colors.
The clear yellow one on the far right is my favorite out of all of the mini models I own; His pose isn't that of the standard FCS figure, but rather he's uncoiled and looks like he's slithering towards you!

Ekans/Arbok Zukan
The one and only, super awesome 1/40 scale figures, the Ekans/Arbok Zukan!! It's hands down my favorite piece in my entire Pokemon collection. It also happens to be the most valuable official figure in my Ekans/Arbok collection! This Zukan came from the super sought after R/S/E Special Set 1. A little background of the Special Set, taken from Wild Pokemon Zukan:
"One of the most coveted sets of all the Pokemon Zukan sets is the Special 1 set aka RSE SP 1 Set. This set is very highly desired by many zukan collectors because it contains the first generation starters and their evolutions, the Growlithe line, the Meowth line, Ekans line, Bellsprout line, Scyther, and Electabuzz."
The set as a whole can sell up to $700, but sometimes, the individual sets can go high as well. I believe recently (2014), I've seen someone offer $200 just for the Charizard line. The Ekans/Arbok Zukan tends to go anywhere between $40-$50, but of course, auctions are driven by what collectors are willing to pay, so the price can skyrocket at any time.
I absolutely love how detailed and to scale these figures are. Their expressions are perfect, and their bodies have the coolest pose out of all of the snake figures. I feel very fortunate to own such a rare piece of Pokemon merchandise. The Zukan resides proudly in the center of my Arbok figures, to show that it's the king of all of the snakes!

Arbok Metal Swing Keychains
Sweet, rare, retro metal keychains with Arbok on it!! Arbok was lucky enough to have TWO different poses of him. One shows his front view and another shows his profile view, which is pretty awesome because it shows diversity in his merchandise.
Every 1st Gen Pokemon received a keychain in this style, although I'm not sure how many received alternate poses like Arbok.

Arbok Bottle Caps
These are some awesome bottle caps with our favorite snakey on them! These came from sodas produced by the Mirinda soft drink company!
The bright orange ones on top are from Mexico, they were sold on Pepsi products. The one on the bottom is from Thailand, which I would imagine also came from some delicious looking soda. The pose where Arbok looks angry is just the cutest thing. No need to be angry anymore, Arbok! We rescued you from the wretched soda!

Arbok Coins
Arbok has been featured on quite a number of coins, and I've been able to obtain 3 of them! The silver ones pictured on top came from Japan. They were made by the Meiji company I believe? I've seen different colors/shapes of the coins too, because they came blind packaged in a box. Still not entirely sure what other coins like these exist, so I'll be sure to keep looking!
The coin pictured below is the Battle Coin. They were produced in America, and they were supposed to be some sort of game. The packages looked like thin jewel CD cases, and they usually came packaged with 3 coins. I'm not entirely sure how successful the game was, I'm not even sure what the numbers on the side mean? But hey, I'm not complaining, as it's another cool snakey to have in my collection!

Arbok Glow-in-the-Dark Wall Decoration
If you were like me as a kid, you had those snazzy glow in the dark plastic stars that you plastered all over your wall. That's kind of what this Arbok is! He's mean, green, and if you look up really close, you can see specs of glitter in him!
Most, if not all, 1st Gen Pokemon received these, and they came randomly packaged in soft plastic packs. There were 16 Pokemon included in the packs, and to my knowledge, only 4 colors (green, blue, yellow, pink). Hunting down the specific colors is frustrating, since most packs on eBay are going for $20 or more, so I'll be keeping my eyes out for more bargain deals!

Pokekmon Red/Green OST (featuring Arbok art)
Since my Japanese isn't all that great, I can't provide much info about what's on these CDs, or what this specific disc says. But what I DO know is that this is the OST to the original Japanese Pokemon games!!!
This particular soundtrack came with 2 CDs, and I was only attracted to the eBay listing because I saw an Arbok on one of the CDs! The art that's featured on this CD is rather extraordinary, as I've never seen these particular poses of these Pokemon. Especially Arbok! Look at those awesome belly markings, and that stunning face!

Arbok PokeRom CD
During one of my semi-daily eBay searches, I came across this thing! LOL WHAT, how did this happen, I didn't even know this existed! From what I remember from my childhood and seeing these little CDs throughout the years, these PokeRom CDs were sold individually in stores (I may have seem them in a CompUSA or something?)
According to this Bulbapedia page, they were a series of educational games. Even though that page said there was an Arbok, I literally had NO idea up until recently (2014)!!! These CDs are very small; smaller than your average CD-ROM, and maybe about the size of a GameCube disc, although these were made before the GameCube existed.

Arbok Pokemon 2000 Pin
ALSKJFDLKASDJFLAKSDJFALKSDJ!!!!
^That's exactly how I feel every time I glance at this rare beauty. The Pokemon 2000 pins were released for a limited time in Australia in the year 2000 (who would've thought!!) These pins were sold in blind packaged sets of three or five; all 151 Pokemon received one, so finding a specific Pokemon is VERY difficult. I have yet to locate an Ekans one, which means that the search continues!

All the original 151 Pokemon received a pin from the Pokemon Center, and each features different art! This art for the Arbok is very odd and quirky, which makes it very lovable.

Arbok "Pokeman" McDonalds Pin
***BOOTLEG***
Upon first glance, everyone and their mom should know that this isn't a legit item. For god's sake, it says "POKEMAN" on it!!! While obviously a bootleg, these pins are a huge favorite among the PKMNcollectors community, and personally, one of my favorites. There were a ton of these pins featuring different Pokemon (maybe about 20-30?), although, not all the 151 Pokemon. And yep, each pin has a scary Ronald McDonald on it, holding a Pokemon.
Definitely one of the more amusing pieces of merchandise that I own. If I ever have a bad day, I can just stroll over to my collection and look at this thing, haha.

Arbok Hanafuda Card and Badge
The Hanafuda card featured on the left came from a rare set of Pokemon themed Hanafuda cards. I'm not sure what year they came out, but it was awhile ago. A lot of the 151 Pokemon were featured on them, but not all of them. I'm very happy that Arbok was featured on one! The cards are about a 1/3rd the size of a TCG card, and are made with a hard plastic.
In late 2014, the same Hanafuda art was released as a new promo at the Pokemon Center. The art was featured on all sorts of things, like clearfiles, wall scrolls, rubber stamps, etc. They're slightly smaller than the Hanafuda card and are made of a thicker plastic, with a little pin on the back. I was hoping that the Arbok would be featured on other merchandise that wasn't just the badge, but I'm not complaining, since I'm super glad to have one more piece of merchandise with Arbok on it!!!

Arbok GameBoy Cartridge
Burger King decided to keep going with the Pokemon toy hype in the early 2000s, making a bunch of cool plastic GameBoys with Pokemon on them! The GameBoys also came with "batteries" that had clear Pokemon on them, as well as small "game cartridges" that also had Pokemon on them.
There was LOTS of GameBoys, batteries, and cartridges made, and since the toy packages were opaque, it was really hard to locate a specific Pokemon. This was one of those random finds that I found while browsing eBay lots. I'm going to assume that all 151 Pokemon have at least a cartridge of them, but don't take my word on it!

Arbok Dog Tag
A sweet dog tag with Arbok on it! I believe these originated in Europe, as I've mainly seen European eBay listings for these. This set of dog tags mainly featured 3rd Gen Pokemon, but a lot of other Gen Pokemon snuck in there, including our purple slithery friend! Not quite sure if I'm a fan of the typeface that was used for "Arbok", it gives the impression of the future, or robots. Oh well, still a cool piece of merchandise!

Card Holder featuring Arbok
Not quite sure what this thing is or where it came from, but it has an Arbok on it! I believe it was made to hold cards. It actually looks and functions like a classic cassette tape holder!

Arbok Gachapon Seal Book
THIS THING!!!! This was a huge mini grail for me for a really long time.
I remember seeing this cool seal book when I first joined the community in 2010, but I lost it in an auction. Little did I know, this Arbok seal book came from a really elusive set of gachapon toys! So it joined my list of "things Mar needs to have for her snake collection", and it was one of those things that I searched obsessively for. I won another one of these seal books in 2011, but unfortunately when the package arrived to me, the seal book was missing. The seller mailed it in a regular thin paper envelope, and the envelope arrived to me in shreds. Although they told me they shipped all their seal books this way, I was rather upset, as I knew from photos that the seal books aren't flat like a Pokemon card or anything. One hasn't surfaced since, until one of my good friends (fellow PKMNcollectors mod Chrissy, aka tyltalis) messaged me on Twitter this year (early 2015) to tell me that a member had a bunch of these seal books for sale. I went to the seller's Storenvy page and bought it right away...I distinctly remember my heart pounding and feeling a never-ending sense of euphoria. That feeling, when something you've searching for so long finally pops up, you just feel like you can float away! How silly to feel a feeling like this with such a tiny piece of merchandise, haha.
There are 16 of these books in all; they are small plastic hollow books that hold stickers inside. Each book features a Pokemon on the cover, which represents the type of Pokemon stickers that are inside, such as Fire, Grass, Normal, etc. You can find out more about these rare beauties on this PKMNcollectors post right here!
As you can probably tell, Arbok has been selected to be on the cover of the seal book for some Poison Pokemon!!! The stickers inside are super unique, they are connected together and fold like an accordion, but they are perforated, so you can tear off an individual sticker if you'd like. I really enjoy Arbok's art here, since it's different than his default art.

Arbok Pencil
What's there to say? A snazzy purple pencil with an Arbok on it. The snazziest of snazzy pencils.

Arbok Crayon
Another one of those unique items that took FOREVER to find, in early 2015 I came across a sealed box of Pokemon RoseArt crayons!!! I remember seeing an Arbok one years ago, but I haven't seen one for sale. So me, being the insane snake Pokemon collector that I am, splurged on a box of 16 year old crayons.
The first thing you'll notice is that it's kind of pink. Okay, that's forgivable, because maybe it could pass as a light lavender. The next thing you'll notice is that it says "Ekans Purple". REALLY, ROSEART? REALLY?!!! I'm not too irritated at this, I'm just way more amused than anything else. Someone at RoseArt didn't to their homework. This is why you should always stay in school, folks. (or just watch an episode of the anime or two, to see what "Ekans" really looks like!)

Arbok Shirts
I was so surprised to find so many shirts with Arbok on it! I didn't know any of these existed until 2012. I happened to find all 4 of these shirts in that year! I still browse eBay *just in case* any other shirts out there happen to feature our favorite purple snakes!!!

Custom Arbok Ceramic Coaster
Any photo I take of this awesome ceramic piece doesn't do the artwork justice. Crafted by a super talented member on the PKMNcollectors community (their name is ilummee), this beautiful Arbok features very lovely artwork, drawn by the artist themselves. I love all the tiny details, and all of the swirls!

Super retro and fabulous Ekans on a snazzy gold keychain! Another awesome and shiny snake to join my army of fabulous and snazzy snakes.

Ekans Bottle Caps
More Mirinda bottle caps, featuring our other awesome purple snake!!!! I'm actually quite happy that all 3 bottle caps feature a different pose. You don't see much merchandise featuring Ekans's profile view, like you see on the top left bottle cap!
The one bottle cap where Ekans is biting the Omanyte makes me rather sad and concerned for our fossil friend. That Ekans obviously isn't aware of our Great Lord and Savior, Lord Helix! I sense a very bad omen for our slithery friend.

Ekans Coins
Deliciously silver and gold Ekans coins, for our snake hoarding pleasure! The coin on top is from Japan, the bottom is the American Battle Coin. The silver coin unfortunately is tarnished in some spots...something I actually didn't notice until I photographed it up close. Maybe a scrub with some jewelry cleaner will shine it back up?!!

Ekans Glow-in-the-Dark Wall Decoration
More glowy and glittery green snakes for your wall decoration needs! Still on the look out for the pink, yellow, and blue glittery snakes!

Ekans Pokemon Center 151 Pin
This art is so funny. It's much different than the Arbok 151 pin, which makes each pin so very special. Is Ekans scared? Upset? Trying to make us laugh? Working on his Haunter imitation skills? Who knows what the artists down at the Pokemon Center were thinking when they sketched up this goofy fellow.

Ekans Hard Rock Cafe Pin
Whoa, more profile view merch of Ekans! This one was a mystery for me when I first saw this little guy on eBay. It was listed as an "Ekans Pin". I knew it was something I didn't have, so I had to bid on it right away. When I received it in the mail, I noticed the Hard Rock Cafe logo was engraved in the back! I asked PKMNcollectors if they had any idea about these pins...and I guess a handful of Pokemon were a part of a promotion at the Hard Rock cafe!

Ekans Metal Stamp Pin
This thing is rather interesting! It looks like a traditional stamp, but it's made with metal! It actually has a large metal clip on the back, so you can clip it onto all sorts of things. Because who wouldn't want to clip a retro looking Ekans on anything and everything?

Ekans GameBoy Cartridge
Another one of those neato mini GameBoy cartrdiges from that crazy Burger King promotion! Quite a generic looking Ekans, with a generic looking background, but hey, it's still a different piece of merchandise for this purple snakey!

Ekans Dog Tag
Same as its Arbok dog tag counterpart! This default pose here on Ekans looks a little cooler than usual (especially compared to the GameBoy cartridge above). There's a little more cel shading going on, as well as some sweet highlights! It's definitely a more eye-catching piece of art!

Ekans Wooden Stamp
Another piece of merchandise that I didn't know existed! Judging by the label on top, it looks like Tomy was the manufacturer of this stamp. And perhaps it was made in 2001?!! Kind of interesting, seeing that we were in the Gold/Silver era during that time.
I love the artwork on this, because 1) it has an alternate pose of Ekans, and 2) both Ekans and Meowth look SO happy!!! Now who wouldn't enjoy something like that? You'll also notice that Ekans's Japanese name is on here, "Arbo". That always made me giggle because it's funny to say both "Arbo" and "Arbok" back to back.
Friend: "Hey Mar, who are your favorite Pokemon?!"
Me: "DEFINITELY ARBO AND ARBOK!"
Friend: "Uhhhh..."

Another snazzy snake pencil, but with an Ekans on it. School supplies have never been more fantastic.

Ekans Mini Skateboard
Did you have those really cool Tech Deck skateboards as a kid? I know I had some, because I went through a silly wannabe skater phase while in middle school. I remember seeing these being sold in stores, but I never knew an Ekans existed!
It's so tempting to open up the package and re-live my middle school days of using this ridiculous finger skateboards, but alas, the chances of finding another MIP piece of merchandise like this is slim to none, so I'll just continue to admire this from afar.
The X-Concepts brand who made these Pokemon skateboards also made mini snowboards, featuring the same art as the skateboards!!! I have yet to locate an Ekans one, but my eyes are forever peeled!!!

Team Rocket Sandwich Keeper (featuring Ekans)
A cute and convenient tupperware container, featuring the Pokemon of Team Rocket! But the most important Pokemon on here is Ekans of course.
I told myself I would only buy merchandise that only featured the Pokemon I was collecting, no other Pokemon could be featured. I reached a point in my collection that I obtained everything I possibly could with ONLY Ekans on it...so I've started to branch out and find more stuff featuring him and other Pokemon. Can't be too picky, especially when Ekans/Arbok aren't on that much stuff anyways! Well, compared to other Pokemon.
What else could be better than a trio of mischievous Pokemon protecting your helpless sandwiches?!!

Team Rocket Metal Tin (featuring Ekans)
Kind of similar to my story above, I obtained this tin only for the sole purpose that Ekans in on it. I don't mind Team Rocket in the first couple seasons of the anime, but they're not my all time favorite things of Pokemon. I'm actually not the biggest Meowth fan either, but I do enjoy Koffing and Weezing!
This tin is rather large, it's almost a foot long, and about 5 inches deep! The tin itself is rather weathered, but I've never come across this before, so I had to snag it up. It currently holds all, and I mean ALL of my flat items. I don't have a proper way to display flats, so I just stick them all inside this tin! From time to time, I'll go through and reminisce through the various cards, stickers, etc that I've obtained over the years.

Ekans/Arbok Pokedex Charms
Our very own trusty adorable charms, straight from the Pokemon Center!
The charms on the left are from 2010, during the HG/SS craze, and the charms on the right are from 2012, when the Pokemon Center decided to make EVERY SINGLE POKEMON INTO A CHARM! So our awesome snake buddies got another set of charms, even though the charms look exactly the same as the 2010 ones, haha. Oh well, the packaging is a little different, and that's all that matters!!!

I have an OBSCENE amount of flats for these cute purple snakes. I'll eventually document and properly scan my flats,
but for now, I'll only show my favorites and ones that I believe are my most prized possessions.

Arbok Production Cel
This photo doesn't do this awesome piece of art justice. A true and genuine production cel, featuring a beautiful, gallant Arbok. It's still pretty insane to own one of these; an artist in Japan actually drew this and hand painted it, and used it for the Pokemon anime. How awesome to own a piece of Pokemon anime history, here in your very home!
I unfortunately haven't gotten a frame for it (yeah yeah I know, I was supposed to do it years ago), a combination of me being lazy, and being afraid to touch it since it's so valuable. The dimensions are rather odd too, so he can't fit in a normal 8x10 picture frame. Once I obtain the correct frame, I'm going to buy a cel background too, so he can look even more awesome!!!!

Poison Type Clearfile
(featuring Ekans, Arbok & Seviper)
The Pokemon Center made a ton of "Type" clearfiles in 2012, featuring Pokemon of their respected type! On top we have our very own amazing, Ekans and Arbok, and on the back, we have a super cute Seviper lurking on the side!!!
The colors of the clearfile are so vibrant and stunning, such incredible shades of purple!!! Although Grass Pokemon are traditionally my favorite, the Poison Pokemon are my second favorite. So many awesome choices for this family photo of Poison Pokemon!!

Pokemon Pokedex Info Book(?)
featuring Ekans/Arbok
No idea what this little keychain booklet is, but there's little info cards of Ekans and Arbok! There were two books like this released, a red one and a green one (or maybe it was blue, I can't remember). This one is the red book, and there was a Charizard on the cover. There are a bunch of other Pokemon in here too, at least half of the original 151.
I'm guessing the cards on that book has their different stats, and then the moves they learn at different levels. Such a handy little book! Even though I can't read Japanese, haha.
